It struck my on my birthday a few days ago that at 28, I'm just ten years younger than my dad when he died of lymphoma. It seems like there have been a lot of deaths lately, including the standard rule of three that happened in my church in under three weeks. I've decided to weave TCB together with a good cause. I have a ton of friends and co-workers this year that are running the marathon for The Leukemia and Lymphoma SocietyŽ and I've decided to weave that together with TBC. For every 200 members who join the TBC Facebook group, we're giving a dollar to LLS.org, with a 1,000,000 member cap (could eventually be more).

A million members is impossible you say? Not at all. I've seen it done for sillier things.

Update, November 21

So, as mentioned on the News page, my company offers a matching grant, dollar for dollar, that fits in perfectly with the 1,000,000 member cap. Now, instead of a dollar every 200 people who join the Facebook group, it's a dollar for every 100 people who join. That's a penny per person.

While a penny's not much now, a hundred of them is enough to buy something off the value menu. A hundred-thousand is enough to make people stand up and take notice.
